The 3,982 cc twin-turbo V8 delivers 585 PS and 850 Nm through the AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT 9G gearbox to all-wheel drive with a rear-biased 40:60 split. An off-roader with the reflexes of a grand tourer.

The story began in 1972 with an agreement between Daimler-Benz and Austria's Steyr-Daimler-Puch to create a military vehicle. Production started in Graz in 1979, the same year the G was first offered to civilian buyers.
