Its 2,981 cc twin-turbo flat-six develops 450 PS and 530 Nm, with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox and rear-wheel drive: 0-100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and 306 km/h, says Porsche. The roof opens in around twelve seconds at up to 50 km/h, with magnesium bows keeping it calm at speed.

The Cabriolet of the eighth-generation 992 was announced in January 2019, first as Carrera S and 4S. It introduced a world first as standard: Wet Mode, which detects water on the road and preconditions the control systems.
