Porsche Boxster
Porsche 987 Boxster Spyder PDK
Less weight, more feeling. The Boxster Spyder is a roadster stripped of the superfluous, with a manual fabric roof, shorter side windows and the sculpted humps on the rear deck that make it unmistakable. This 2011 car has covered just 15,000 km.
The 3.4-litre flat-six produces 320 PS, 10 more than the Boxster S of the day, here paired with the optional seven-speed PDK rather than the six-speed manual. Aluminium doors and rear deck, plus lower, firmer suspension complete the recipe.
Shown at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show and sold from 2010 as a 2011 model, it was then the lightest Porsche on sale, at 1,275 kg. It took the lightweight roadster idea the Boxster had embodied since 1996 to its limit.
