Immense torque and the soul of a long-distance traveller: the Cayenne S Diesel is the Porsche for those who measure journeys in borders rather than kilometres. This 2013 example shows 169,000 km and was conceived to go far, fast and in comfort.

Under the bonnet sits a 4.2-litre twin-turbo V8 diesel with 850 Nm of peak torque, driving all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. Porsche quoted a top speed of 252 km/h.

The Cayenne arrived in 2002, born of Ferry Porsche's 1989 belief that an off-roader built to Porsche standards and wearing the crest would sell. Announced in 2012, the S Diesel became Porsche's most powerful diesel.
