Its 3.8-litre naturally aspirated flat-six was rated by Porsche at 400 PS in the 991-generation Carrera S. Shifting is handled by the seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic, pairing lightning changes with grand-touring ease.

The 991, seventh generation of the 911, was unveiled at Frankfurt in September 2011 to replace the 997. Its aluminium-steel body was stiffer and 45 kg lighter, and in 2017 this generation produced the one-millionth 911.
