Porsche 993 911 Carrera

An air-cooled flat-six has a texture no modern engine can reproduce. This 1994 993 911 Carrera delivers it undiluted, wrapped in what Porsche calls an exciting interpretation of the 911 design DNA.

In this early 993 form, the 3.6-litre flat-six produced 272 PS at 6,100 rpm. This car has the four-speed Tiptronic automatic, offered alongside the six-speed manual, driving the rear wheels. The new LSA multi-link rear axle brought sharper handling and a better ride. It has covered 135,000 km.

The 993 entered production in 1993 after some 400 million Deutschmarks and four years of development. By 1998, 68,881 had been built, and with it an era closed: it was the last 911 with an air-cooled engine.
