The 3.3-litre flat-six, turbocharged and intercooled, produces 300 PS at 5,500 rpm, sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual gearbox. A raw, direct recipe, true to the spirit of the 1980s.

Unveiled at the Paris Motor Show in October 1974, it was born of the need for Group 4 homologation and was, at the time, Germany's fastest production car. The intercooled 3.3-litre engine arrived in 1978 and stayed until 1989.
